Most privacy policies are written to protect the organization. This one is written to protect you.
I believe transparency isn't a legal checkbox — it's the foundation of any real relationship. So here's exactly what I collect, why I collect it, and what you can do about it. No buried language. No assumptions.
What I Collect
What you share with me directly. When you reach out through a contact form, subscribe to updates, or email me, you're sharing information like your name, email address, organization, and context about your work. I only collect what you offer. You're always in control of what that is.
What the Site picks up automatically. Like most websites, this one collects basic technical data when you visit — things like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you viewed. This helps me understand whether the Site is actually useful to the people it's meant to reach.
How I Use It
I use your information to:
Respond to your messages and schedule conversations
Send resources or updates you've asked to receive
Improve how the Site works and what it communicates
Understand whether my work is reaching the right people
I do not sell your information. I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Full stop.
Who Else Touches Your Data
I use a small number of tools to run this Site and my business. Each one has access only to what they need:
JotForm — handles my contact and intake forms. Their privacy policy lives at jotform.com/privacy.
Webflow — hosts this Site and may collect standard server logs. See webflow.com/legal/privacy.
My email platform — stores your email address if you've subscribed to updates. These aren't silent data brokers. They're tools I've chosen carefully, and they're contractually bound to protect what you share.
Cookies
The Site may use cookies to understand how people navigate it. You can turn cookies off in your browser settings at any time — that's your right, and I mean it. Some parts of the Site may work differently if you do.
Your Rights
You are not a passive recipient of this policy. You have real agency here:
Unsubscribe from emails anytime — every message I send includes a link to do exactly that.
Ask me to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@birchesbrand.com. I'll take care of it.
Opt out of non-essential data collection through your browser settings. If you're in California, the EU, or anywhere with specific data privacy protections, those rights apply here too. Reach out and I'll honor them.
How Long I Keep It
I hold onto your information only as long as it takes to do what I said I'd use it for — and not a day longer, unless the law requires otherwise. If you ask me to delete your data, I will.
Children's Privacy
This Site isn't designed for or directed to anyone under 13.
Security
I take reasonable precautions to keep your information safe. That said, no system on the internet is perfectly secure — and I won't pretend otherwise. What I can promise is that I treat your data with the same care I'd want applied to my own.
When This Changes
If I update this policy, I'll change the date at the top. I'd rather you know than not.
Questions?
If something here isn't clear, or you want to know more about how I handle your information — just ask. That's what transparency looks like in practice.
